Strength training at national team level.

Our partnership with the German Deaf Handball Team. Four training courses. Three training sessions per day. Test matches in the evening, athletics in the morning.

Structured, performance-oriented, consistent.

This is how the German national deaf handball team prepared for the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo.

The Deaflympics are the world's most important multi-sport event for deaf athletes. In November 2025, the best teams came together in Tokyo – including the German national deaf handball team. Their result: Silver. For the fourth time in a row.

We were the official sponsor of the team at the 2025 Deaflympics – visible on the jerseys and present at training sessions. The team was equipped with our G-Flex performance sports shoe – Used in strength and athletic training as part of professional preparation.

Structured preparation at the highest level

The preparation followed a clear plan: multi-day training courses, several sessions per day, supplemented by test matches and targeted athletic training in the morning.

During the year, the players also trained at their home clubs. Individual strength training in the gym twice a week was a fixed part of the program. Stability, control, and clean movements were fundamental requirements.

Performance is built in the gym

Competitive handball requires a strong physical foundation for power transmission and controlled movement.

The following were therefore an integral part of the training plan:

  1. Squats – two-legged and one-legged
  2. Deadlifts and various deadlift variations
  3. Rowing, also with the barbell
  4. Shoulder press, military press, Arnold shoulder press
  5. Box jumps

Exercises that require precision and a secure footing. What a sports shoe needs to deliver in strength training. In athletic training, control under load is key. Stability, direct ground contact, secure grip, and stability are crucial—especially during stop-and-go movements and heavy strength exercises.

The requirements vary depending on the position. What remains the same is the need for controlled movements.

Training with the G-Flex: precise, stable, controlled

The G-Flex was specifically used in strength and athletic training.

"We noticed significantly closer contact with the ground, which led to greater stability. This allowed exercises to be performed with greater precision." – Dominik Götz

The effect was particularly noticeable during squats and deadlifts: stable footing, direct feedback from the ground, controlled movement. A sports shoe for strength, control, and precision. The G-Flex accompanies training where stability and ground contact are crucial.

"We would recommend the G-Flex to all strength athletes at the gym who value stability, a secure footing, and direct contact with the floor." – Dominik Götz

A sports shoe for control under load – clear in use, reliable in function.

Training that connects

In the gym, repetitions, technique, and confidence in your own stance are what count.

Squats, deadlifts, presses, box jumps—the exercises performed by the national team are the same ones that many people train regularly.

"We continue to use the G-Flex in training." – Dominik Götz

Performance comes from consistency. Between competitions. Between projects.
